Peak Performance
Welcome back to our weekly newsletter, which has been missing for a while. This is due to some changes we have been implementing on our website and also the physical store. We are now back and promise to be having our weekly newsletter published every Saturday.
Apple just had their Spring event on the 8th of March 2022 (PEAK PERFORMANCE), where we had major announcements for new products to be released in the coming few days if not weeks. The line-up was not a big shock, with a lot of leaks leading to the event day.
This event like any other Apple Spring event had upgrades of existing products from iPhone, Mac, iPads, and Processor. There were 5 Major Product releases, with other small software and M1 Chip upgrades.
iPhone 13 & iPhone 13 Pro Max
A surprise announcement which a lot of people didn’t expect.
For the iPhone 13 no update on Specifications, just a new colour release called the Alpine Green which is
darker than the iPhone 12 but not like the iPhone 11 Pro (Midnight green). This Mid-cycle colour release has
happened before with the iPhone 12 Purple colour and previous models where we had the iPhone Red products released.
iPad Air 5
iPads have received major upgrades in the last 3 -4 Years with the introduction of the Pro Models, which have really changed the productivity status of the iPads. The iPad Air has been receiving a very slow upgrade, considering the first generation was released in November 2013. This year, the iPad Air 5th generation came with major upgrades and can now compete with the Pro Models, with it being powered by the Apple Silicone Chip M1. The other major upgrade was the ULtrawide 12 megapixel Camera and the Centerstage feature. On the colours, there was a new Purple introduced which its predecessor iPad Air 4th gen didn’t have.
iPhone SE 2022
Here is the upgrade a lot of people were waiting for, or an equal number expected this iPhone to be discontinued or not get an upgrade. iPhone Se 2022 or rather the 3Rd Generation iPhone SE has now the same A15 Bionic chip as the iPhone 13 which means the performance peak of this iPhone is per the Flagship models. The iPhone SE 2022 now supports 5G network, which is not even available on the iPhone 11 series. That means it is a budget phone, and with these capabilities, its sales numbers might be high.
There were changes that a lot of people hoped to see but didn’t happen on the iPhone SE 2022. For example, the replacement of the Touch ID to Face ID and the display still remains the same 4.7 inches. Lastly, the water-resistant is still at IP67 which a lot of people argue could have been upgraded to match other iPhones in the market which has IP68.
Mac Studio
The Mac Studio can be called the product of the Apple Event. From body build, processors, and even the name is new to us. Mac Studio can be looked at as a new version of the Mac Mini which has been in the market since 2005 with the last update being the M1 2020 version.
The biggest jump or upgrade we would say is on both build and Processor where now we have M1 Ultra Chip on the Mac studio. M1 Ultra is a combination of 2 M1 Max Processors into one, making this machine the most powerful Mac currently in the market.
Studio Display
When we hear the word Studio, we all go back to a room where we expect Clarity and sharp audio and visuals to come out from. The Studio display was announced together with the Mac Studio as a Consumer branded lower display powered by the A13 chip for both Audio and camera capabilities. The Display comes with 3 mics that work well with Hey Siri plus 6 speakers for you to have the Spatial Audio Experience. This will be the first Mac to have CenterStage capability by having a 12-megapixel camera. The USB-C Thunderbolt is one to look out for with it having a Fast charge of up to 96 watts which means you can now charge your MacBook
